Hinkle
Hello again, so does grease die count for just Lincoln alone or does it have to have the lettering or date in with it for to be a struck through. I have went through so many photos on line but can't find any. This coin only has faded parts on Lincoln, such as his lips ,nose ,neckline and parochial bow. And the out line of the Lincoln portrait. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Edited July 10, 2020 by Hinkle
Greenstang
Struck through grease can appear anywhere on any coin but in the case of your Lincoln, I would say that the weakness was caused by an overpolished die.

Thank you greenstang, the over polishing die was my other assumption. Cool, good to know.
