1959 franklin half turning black

Hey ... I've got a 1959 franklin half in a slab holder ms64 but it looks like the coin is being taken over by this black substance . I dont ever remember seeing anything like this . Can anyone help me out here

It's toning. Slabs aren't hermetically sealed that I know of; plus, we don't know if this is a grading service slab or just a home encapsulation. That's what silver looks like when it tones up ugly.

Welcome to the forum

As JKK says, it is just toning, I have a couple of silver coins in slabs that are completely black on both sides.
