Thank you. That picture answered the question. That is a souvenir token from the Pony Express Museum in St Joseph, Missouri - the eastern terminus of the Pony Express route. (The western end of the line was Sacramento, California.) The building pictured on what I assume is the obverse is the museum building. It isn't the original building -the wooden structure was replaced in 1888 by a brick building, but they reused some of the original posts and beams. Picture below:

How true !

Back when 'Parcel Post' was an option, I would see the parcel post tortoise, with a mail sack on his back, making his way along the NYS thruway.
