Hello. Excited to join all of you. I am definitely  newbie but eager to learn.  My small  collection consists of U.S. and foreign coins ranging  from 1876 to present. Recently, i found  1971 penny, no mint mark . The 7 looked like a "3" from a distance. Is this possibly an error coin?20200317_065818.thumb.jpg.c753387eddd0e9ccbe60877970f8ad2e.jpg

Is it ok to ask this type of question?

Yes, though after a while we hope you'll acquire the knowledge to be more selective. While the reverse pic could be much sharper and should have been rotated to correct alignment, it didn't affect the diagnosis in this case.

We expect these types of questions and welcome them provided the person asking is prepared to accept the consensus answer. You would be appalled how many people think they've found their retirement, post a parking-lot penny they are sure is a Very Rare Mint Error, and then fight with people who tell them it's not worth any premium. We instruct them to send it in for grading if they are so certain. They don't, or if they do, they never have the character to come back and fess up to the result they got.
