Kevine84
Hi There are some really interesting individual coins in this set. IS THERE A "SMART" WAY TO GO ABOUT FINDING VALUE WITH THIS KEY DATE SET? My first thought of what to do here is usually the exact wrong one. Six Mile Rick
Try and sell it. ---- A coins value is only worth what another person is willing to pay for it. Edited February 6, 2020 by Six Mile Rick
Kevine84
Oh OK. I could sell it to the dealer who offered me $6 - but I think that's a little low. I'm trying to figure out the high end of this game...
Six Mile Rick
E-bay is $11 and up BUT you need to figure shipping costs in. -- $4 +/- The dealer sounds fair but you could offer to locals and make a couple more bucks.
Six Mile Rick
Funny thing is -- It's not a game it is a hobby. The more you enjoy it --- the more you learn. The more you learn --- the better your sales get. Edited February 6, 2020 by Six Mile Rick
Kevine84
So why does everyone just go straight for the $11 bid? What is the 50C graded MS66 or more?
Six Mile Rick
Your set is not graded. It is in original mint package which sells for $11 on ebay. Grading costs over $20 a coin which means you need to spend over $100 to get that set graded. By then you have 5 coins graded and slabbed for $111 +. It is a gamble but grading knowledge will help you on what to send in for grading and what to sell.
Six Mile Rick
B.T.W. Those sets pop open and many dealers have been through them and picked out the sweet ones and replaced them.
Kevine84
I didn't get it from a dealer - I got it from the guy who bought it.
