Flattened penny? Error?

I found this penny (2009 formative years penny) that seems to have been flattened but still has a raised edge/rim. On the obverse Lincoln’s face is faded and you can see the inner metal (nickel? Idrk) in some spots and a lot of the detail isn’t there and the words like in god we trust, are missing except for the very top of the letters which is by the rim. The coin is larger than a normal penny as well. The reverse side you can see America in the same size and placement as normal except the words United States is larger than normal, backwards, and more towards the center than the rim. What do you think caused this? Thanks for the feedback

Welcome to the Forum Clara22

I agree with l.cutler, just damage.

Looks like the Obverse has been milled out and the reverse has had another coin pressed into it. (Called a vise job)

Easy to tell as the lettering is in reverse and incuse.
