1968 d nickel possibly error

I have this nickel, but looks a little brownish to me. Just wondering if it is cooper plated. Or was this sitting in the ground to long. Lol the outside of the rim is the same color also. Thanks

Not a remark on the coin you ask about but you might be interested in doing some reading up on "improperly annealed" and "sintered" nickels @Hinkle

On circulated examples you'll need to be able to rule out environmental damage first.  The topic itself is an interesting defect within coin production.

Thanks, crawtomatic do I really have to read up on that. Dang , there's so much to read though. Ahahahah lol, just kidding. your right though reading is the key to know between damaged and genuine. 😁
