Frankenstein penny/nickel

My mom and I were looking through her coins the other day and she pulls this out. At first I thought the nickel was just a sticker or something but it feels like a real nickel front and back. Does anybody have any idea how or why someone would do this? I’ve heard of shrinking dollar bills in anhydrous ammonia but how would you shrink a nickel that small? Sorry the pictures are a little blurry. I’m waiting on her to send me some better ones.

Look up images for "tiny novelty coins" or "mini us coins". Many sold as sets of "inflation coins". Here's a discussion about a nickel inside of a nickel with pictures. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/nickel-inside-of-a-nickel.198719/

They aren't shrunken real coins, just made that way as novelties. You can shrink real coins using high voltage, there's videos of doing it, which I'm too lazy to find.
