1944 no mint mark

A brass 1944 would have to be in really sweet condition to have significant value. The lower grades of mint state would only be starting points. My Coin Values mag lists the value at $175 for MS-67 Red, which would be one heck of a special coin.

If you want an easy way to filter out a lot of wheatbacks, flip the coin over and look at the lines at the top of the wheat. If there's even any question that they are all full and clear, it's highly likely the coin is circulated. If they are definitely not all full and clear, it is well worn. To get F-12, if memory serves, one has to be able to make out all the lines (with some weakness allowed). For VG-8, it's half the lines, and G-4 can have the lines worn flat. There are of course other criteria, but those are good limiters to know.
