New collector,day1 finds,need info

What kind of info would help you? Value, grading opinions, condition, etc.?

I think it's a nice-looking buff that shows about 2/3 of the horn, so that's good. Worn but more dinged than worn. Can't tell if it's cleaned. These are common and don't get a big premium, though it's a cut above the well-worn ones where you can't see the horn except for the bottom crescent.

Mainly just wanted to know if its desirable or worth anything over face value, sorry for being so vague. It was in my dads old trinket box, I'm sure it was never cleaned. Thank you very much for the info and response

Any Buff on which you can clearly make out the date and mint (this one has none; they are at bottom reverse) is worth more than face. That one might be in the neighborhood of $2.

Don't worry about the vagueness. It's the norm. People post a picture and think that the question is obvious, but it's hard to assume what someone really wants to know, so we end up asking.

If you desire, there are many different varieties for Buffalo nickels, you could start by collecting the different ones, not just always the 3 or 3 1/2 legs..or maybe proof only instead of mint state...errors are cool, you could try for rotated reverses then move on to rare clips or something...it makes it more interesting, my opinion anyway...
