If I submit a coin to NCS is there any way to keep the original NGC number?

Thank you for your post. When submitting to NCS for conservation and grading you will lose the original certification number if the coin is approved for the process. If the coin is reject (not a candidate for NCS) it will be returned in the original holder with the original certification number.
