How to grade my coins i need all the steps

4 posts in this topic

Begin by obtaining a copy of the grading standards. I use the Official ANA Grading Standards book. Also obtain a loupe, though bear in mind that grading is based on what you can see without magnification.

Examine your coins in light of the grade standards in the book.

Do this long enough and you'll get pretty good at grading coins.

JKK mentioned a good book and I also use Photograde. It is a good book also.

Concur. And having both is excellent because the way the standards are stated can differ between the two. Another companion book would be Travers's Official Guide to Coin Grading & Counterfeit Detection. And let's not forget our community's own: Poe's The Art & Science of Grading Coins.
