2 posts in this topic

Am needing help with properly indertifying value of medal.

Liberty head (facing right) on front

Eagle "seal" bicentennial 1776-1976 on back

It weighs 17.4 g

Is it .900 gold?

What's the weightin troy oz?

Best place to sell?

And any other info you might have would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Cindy Bothe

Hi Cindy,

Your medallion is most certainly not gold. You can see, on the higher areas, how the gold plating is worn off and the base metal, a silver color, is showing through.

Bicentennial medallions were manufactured by many, many company's, and I'm sure yours is of minimum value. Especially considering the condition.
