rmw
A newbie Here is a proof 1746 British halfcrown in NGC 66 star, just purchased. This is one of the best examples of only 100 made, originally in 4 piece sets. It is now a companion piece to my 1746 proof shilling A belated Happy New Year to everyone. THE WELSH DRAGON
Totally breath taking. You are very fortunate. I am starting back into Great Britain coins. Starting all over because I sold everything years ago. I can only dream of coins like this one. Thanks for sharing.
rmw
One of the things about British coins, apart from the long history, is that top flight pieces can be had for a tiny fraction of comparable Us pieces. On top of that there is the great design of some issues, of which this is one. Also there were a lot of world technological firsts in coin production in Britain. The first steam powered coins produced anywhere were British, for example, in the 1790s. Ive posted examples of those in the past. I agree I am fortunate to get a piece like this.
