1835 Five Dollar Gold

I would say it might just make VF-20. I've seen some NGC and PCGS graded Classic Head gold coins, and the VF-20 pieces looked similar to this one.

 

If you go back a couple of decades, this would be a Fine-15, but it looks to be so problem free that it might rate low end VF money.

Thanks for feedback Mark and Bill. That's my oldest gold piece. I have a type set that my Dad and I put together about 15 years ago. One of the factors we didn't take into consideration when purchasing the type set pieces is whether or not they had been cleaned. I'm still not all that confidant that I could tell now since I've handled very little gold. Especially ones that have been dipped.
