Strange Coin????

My wife brought me home a bag of coinstar rejects. She works a walmart. Got a 1907 and a 1888 V nickel. Both about good. Anyway, this was in there also. Is this a coin? I know if it is its from the darkside but I know there are darkside collectors here too. What ya think?

It is a modern reproduction of an ancient Jewish coin. It's the kind of thing you would see sold at a tourist attraction.

The denomination is One Prutah, sometimes called a "Widow's Mite" from the New Testament story.
