Great information on branch circulation. And how did they stockpile

so many 82, 83 and 84CC dollars but far fewer 90CC's and the like ?

The most recent issue of the E-Gobrecht Newsletter included contemporary accounts of CC coins being shipped east.

It makes sense that much of the greatly increased CC production of the mid-1870's would be shipped East for the silver resumption program.

I wonder how much of it ended up in the Midwest? It needed coinage too, and it would be simpler to supply the Midwest with SF and CC coinage rather than ship it all the way to the East Coast and then ship it back hundreds of miles.

I like the way the San Francisco Mint's hand-written ink "shadow" has transferred to other portions of the letter, making it so authentic.

Beautiful cursive writing, in today's world, a dying art form.
