I posted an image of this one the other day in MBA101's autumn colors post, but do you have a coin that's toned closer to the Blood Moon color?

Rust-color moon, but not close to the "blood moon" BS...despite the altered photos in on-line media.

Yeah definitely not blood-colored. And I'm assuming the intensity of the color is different depending on where you live, but from Baltimore this morning, it was shaded more than colored. There was a hint of orange, but the sun rose right after totality. Actually, ldhair's half dollar is a great representation of what I saw this morning.

 

It was certainly an odd sight to see in the sky though...pretty darn ominous. I can see how people would have been freaked out by it thousands of years ago. The moon is bright white every single night for your entire life, and then all of a sudden it goes dark right before your eyes with no explanation. My first thought certainly would be sometime along the lines of "that can't be good".

Went out drinking with the guys until midnight then woke up at 4:30 to go sit in a lawn drinking coffee with the daughter for two hours. We had great skys and weather. This is the 2nd one we have watched and the color on this one was great.
