The OP has attached a picture of an 1885 proof Trade Dollar. He is not incorrect in saying that millions of Trade Dollars were sent overseas. However, Grover Cleveland did not become president until 1885, the last year of Trade Dollar mintage. Only 5 Trade Dollars (all proofs) were minted during his time as president. That is, unless they were minted before his March 4th, 1885 inauguration.

While some of Mr. (Ms.) Decker's journals have been somewhat inane, a portion of what he states is true and I think mockery is uncalled for. He obviously is trying to learn and spread any knowledge he picks up.

BTW, if M. Decker owns the 1885 proof Trade Dollar he pictured, we should all hope to be that lucky one day.

MarkW - I think it's a matter of not understanding what the OP is trying to say. Knowledge has to be intelligible to be spread.

If the OP could post is plain English, that would help.

"It's his journal, he should write whatever he wants."

Yep. And if the OP wants to communicate, using plain English and asking questions or posting his thoughts would help.

Maybe if some were more willing to assist the OP it would have positive results.
