1835 half cent

The coin has EF-45 sharpness, but it also has a lot of verdigris on it which may or may not come off. It also as a small amount of red corrosion at the top of the obverse which sometimes upsets the TPG graders. I had a large cent with that was body bagged for that. Later after I sold it, it appeared in a major TPG holder with no qualifiers. :(

 

It is a decent little coin, especially if the green stuff is lose. Still this is one the perils of copper. The stuff is reactive to the elements, and that can take down the grade of a very sharp and attractive example.
