Detailed Coins

There definately is. Theres a huge market for coins that cost just too much in low grades. Many true collectors do not want to buy error coins that are just waaaay too worn. They may not have the money to buy an 1873 Indian Head Double Liberty in a high grade, but whats the point of buying one in G if you cannot even see the doubled liberty anymore? So, they get one graded in F details at a discounted rate. And then, there are other collectors who need to put a 1916 D Mercury Dime into their album. Even one in AG would cost around $500. And it doesnt even look all that great. So, instead, they may get one in VG, and pay a discounted rate. I believe there is at least one big dealer who has created a niche market selling just "details" graded coins. Ive sold quite a few myself.
