Help with no mint mark 1971 Washington quarter

I have a 1971 Washington quarter without a mint mark. Can't find any info about such a coin. Any input would be great.

If it's a business strike, it's a Philly coin. Typically, Philly minted coins have no mintmarks. (War Nickels are the exception).

That would be a quarter from the Philadelphia mint. It will not have a mintmark. The Denver mint type will have a "D" on it.

Only in some cases does a Philadelphia mint not have a mark. For this year I found that there should be a P on it if it was from that mint. At least that's what I read.

Non-mintmarked 1971 quarters were struck as business strikes and 1971-S examples were struck as Proofs. A non-mintmarked 1971 is probably worth less than $5, unless it grades MS66 or higher.

 

If you looked for and could not find 1971 examples, perhaps you were looking under Proof's, rather than business strikes?

Except for the Wartime nickels and certain foreign coins struck there, the Philadelphia Mint did not use a mint mark until 1979, when it used them on the dollar coins only, and 1980, when it used them on the nickels through dollars.
