Nickel dime from 1959??

A plating job would have a funny ring to it. You want to start with weighing it and seeing how far off it is. If it's plated and off it will be on the high end. If it's off on the low end, taking into account the weight-tolerances, it could indeed be another metal.

A light plating would not affect the ring, or noticeably affect the weight.

Looks silver to me also. Try the toilet paper test. Lay a piece of toilet paper over the dime. A clad dime will look gray in color and the silver dime will look white in color.
