Better pics of my next submission, 1959 mint set and 1958 5c

Here are some better pics of a 1959 mint set I picked up that the coins toned nicely. It was housed in an after market snap lock holder with card board insert.

59 P mint franklin. Nice color for the date and looks to have a shot at ms65. They might 64 it though.

59 D mint franklin. This one has excellent color for the date and should get ms65*fbl.

59 P mint Washington. Super color but it may only go ms64 star:(.

59 D Washington. Obv IMO is 63, reverse is an easy 65 shot 66. My guess they will 64 it and give it the star.

59 D Roosevelt. Awesome color and IMO should go 67* shot FT. This is the nicest one I've seen for this date and mint mark!

1958 P Jefferson. I'm interested too hear what you all think of this one. I've had this coin raw now for 4 years and purchased it in a double mint set. Its the most colorful Jefferson I've personally seen but the color is so wild I never sent it in fear of it getting bagged. The coin is weakly struck and IMO is ms63. I'm gonna send it in and let ngc decide its fate.

Here are my opinions.

1) 1959 50c - MS-64

1959 Doubled Die Reverse (Breen 5251, FS-80) (Type 2 over 1)

2) 1959-D 50c - MS-65 FBL

3) 1959 25c - MS-65 (no star)

4) 1959-D PASS

5) 1959-D 10c - MS-67 FT

6) Bagged

Taylor

What's that double die worth and does ngc attribute it?

1) MS65 (assuming the luster is all there)

2) MS65 no FBL - I see some weakness in the bell lines.

3) MS64* (shot MS65 if bumped up for color)

4) MS64* (I agree with your assessment about the split grade)

5)MS66 no FT (although the designation has not always been applied consistently so FT is a possibility)

6) Uncirculated details - environmental damage

1958 Philadelphia Jefferson nickel, hard to believe the Mother Mint put this coin in their Mint Set as a representative of this year. I do believe the grading company will have to reject this particular coin as questionable...it may not even be market acceptable with hard core collectors. I like to find virtue in all coins, but this one scores low.

Thanks so far for the input. I think ill be saving my submission fees on the Jefferson and putting the extra cash towards the variety plus to get the 59 franklin attributed as a DDR.

Great color coins, but the 1959-D 25C is a most elusive issue to find with such hues. Amazing coin!

The 1959 DDR sells for about $60 in NGC MS64 and about $130 in NGC MS65. Yes, NGC does attribute this variety.
