NGC to Certify Colonial Coins. What do you think?

5 posts in this topic

this is great

i really loike this offers protection for the coin and a starting oint for grade as i am sure there are many out there that like colonials and are more apt to buy a coin valued into the hundreds that they are not too expert in and the holder is a comfortable starting point gives them some sort of assurance as to grade value and not something that is counterfeit or damaged where it is market unaccpetable

the white holder also really shows off nicely these circ early coins!!

i like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a good idea ngc

also if you buy the coin and do not like the holder and want it raw well then you can always bnreak it out!

but for me since i am not a colonial specialist and reaslly would not know waht i am looking at if i were ever to consider buying a colonial say a nice fugio in xf au if i am goinghb to spend 1000 lets say i like the fact ity is in a holder as to grade and auntenticy and market acceptable guarantee

as for early circ copper i do not know waht i am looking at !!

certianly a starting point and if you are a copper expect in these coins well if you like the coin buy it and if you do not like the holder you can always break it out!

I'm not a colonial collector, but I think it is a nice addition. In my opinion, it's been a long time coming since the competition already grades them.

The only thing I dislike about this is that the Economy Service level isn't available for them. Not that it will matter to me personally, but I would like to see all coins open to all service levels.

Cool David! I was just ogling the colonial section of my Red Book the other day thinking of how it would be to collect such historically wonderful coins. (Expensive laugh.gif). I would have never guessed that any existed in gem grades! When is the registry coming for colonial type? smile.gif
