and a couple coins.

Hi everyone,

I just received, within a few days of each other, the 2013 Girl Scouts commemorative dollars. These are very nice coins with well designed images. The Mint did a nice job with the $1 logo on the reverse instead of actually spelling it out. That was a nice touch.

But the reason I like these coins so much is that the reverse gets me thinking of those wonderful Girl Scout cookies! I usually buy about a dozen of them and toss em into the freezer to enjoy throughout the year. Today, I busted one out...chocolated covered short bread...and ate some in honor of their 100th anniversary.

I also would like to add how cheap these coins can be purchased in the 70 grade. The Mint right now charges 59.95 for the proof and 55.95 for the MS. I paid 66.19 for the proof and the MS cost 63.78. Both of them I got off of Ebay. That is not even close in covering grading, shipping, and insurance!

I hate to say, but buying from the Mint and then sending them off for grades does not make much sense anymore.

Take care

Jeffrey
