Barber Half O mint mark error?

Here is an 1893 Barber Half- it was represented as a O mink mark error. Does anybody think this is true? Looks like damage to me,

I am adding the Sellers picture from eBay- I know the coin is a dog- I was looking for a filler- stupid move I know...

As rough as that coin is I don't know how you could tell an error from all the PMD.

If that is an O mint mark, it sure is way off center from where it should be. But then again, the coin is so beat up that it's rrally hard to tell what's what.

I've seen a few 93-O's, but I have never seen one with a mint mark that far off. I'm not saying it can't happen and that last picture does look like an O. I'll have to keep a sharp eye when I'm looking to see if I can find another. But my gut feeling is some sort of PMD.

Well I have the actual thing to look at- if it weren't for the damage on the obverse I would say maybe but with the damage on the obverse directly behind the "mint mark" I am certain it is just damage- but wanted some more learned views.

Are you sure it's even genuine ? It looks a contemporary counterfeit !

Have it weighed, I bet it is nowhere near the weight of a genuine Barber

Silver Half Dollar.

Say I can try and weigh it if I can find my scales- it seems real- just the mint mark issue

The coin is the issue, not just the mint mark.

It's a contemporary counterfeit.

I do believe that MM is just PMD, the position is just too far off
