Funny/Bad USPS Story

I was laid up recently after foot surgery.

 

I needed to ship a coin, but had no means to get to the post office.

 

I asked my wife to ship it for me, with explicit instructions to add delivery conf and insurance for $450.

 

So, the USPS guys asks her if she needs insurance, and she says, "yes, 450".

 

USPS guy translates that (reasonably, too), as "for $50".

 

Luckily, the package made its way to the honest buyer, but it could've been bad.

 

Don't make this same mistake!

Ouch, that's bad! Glad it arrived safely..... I always am nervous about sending coins in the mail, especially key dates, I would've been a nervous wreck!

 

Sorry to hear about your foot surgery, hope you're doing and feeling better.

I would write out instructions next time and highlight the dollar amount. She could then show this to the USPS clerk.
