There is no way to know for certain, but it's possible that by being so forthright in his description of the coin, BLive1972 did better than he otherwise would have.

 

Some buyers feel more confident and trusting (and therefore bid higher) when they read a description that sounds like it's honest and up front, while not trying to hide things.

 

Either way, congratulations!
