Does anyone have a clue what this medal/pendant is?

A person I know ATS on Purely Numismatics shows this weird looking, worn metal pendant the size of a U.S. Quarter. We think it's a religious medal of some sort but not sure. I was wondering if anyone has a clue about this? There's pics here on the thread. http://purelynumismatics.com/showthread.php?tid=1232

 

What do you think this is- is it even possible to ID it with all the wear?

Take a chill pill, Jersey. The guy is legitimately asking for help on a question. If you notify the mods over this, I would expect you also notify the mods anytime anyone links to a PCGS forum thread. If not, why the double standard?

Looks like a well worn Good Samaritan medal, probably carried as a pocket piece.
