Is this a valid date for this coin, It has on the Obv. REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE, and on the Rev. INDO-CHINE FRANCAISE TITRE 0.900.POIDS 27GR, I picked this up on recent trip to Laos.

I picked up a similair one in Vietnam...was false. Tested with a magnet and the coin stuck to it! Your coin was only amde from 1880 or there abouts onward...the nickname for these false coins are called "Ugly Betties" as the majority coins falsely made had an ugly womens head...big nose ....the wieght of the coin will also give it away..difficult to imitate silver weight!
