I have an offer is this a good deal for silver dimes?

That up to you. If you buy it you are making a bet that silver bullion is going to go up in price. I'd be more comfortable buying half dollars, and dimes are still silver.

Current price of silver is $31.95, so the total silver value for 100 dimes is $231.

It's up to you if you buy. But as with any investment, there is a risk involved.

You may buy these for $230, but if silver drops $5 or $10 for some reason, you've lost money on this investment.

Of course, his profit or loss is only realized upon when he sells, based upon the bullion price at that time.

An interesting fact is that you can usually buy silver dimes at a little less than spot. Quarters and halves at spot and dollars a bit above. Not a horrible deal, but not a great deal.
