If they will stop by on their bikes, I'lll be pleased to collect any gold they care to leave -- maybe even some big slabs of it.

Michael,

I am a mormon, and I am from utah. Because of cost I am mostly interested in the history of mormon gold. Thank you very much for the links you posted. To be honest im not sure to many people collect it. I know the owners of rust rare coin and monarch coin have several pieces. But i know a few members here have deep pockets and thought maybe some might have an interest. Thanks for all the comments.

Nick

Mormon gold is one of those areas where you really have to be some sort of a specialist to get involved with it. The prices are very high, and the coins do not become available very often.

I've never been a private and territorial gold collector. The closest I ever got was that I owned a couple of California fractional gold pieces at one time. I just couldn't get into them, and end up selling them. I also own a Bechtler gold dollar, but that is based more on my interest in gold dollars than privately minted gold. I would like to own a Humbert $50 gold slug some day because of its connection to the first San Francisco mint and the Pan-Pac $50 gold commemorative coins, but that's the extent of me territorial gold want list.

I have never seen any, but I did read about Mark Hofman in ->The Mormon Murders : A True Story of Greed, Forgery, Deceit, and Death

which was a rather interesting book - not sure how much of it is fiction
