newp 1946-s 25c MS64PL

found this one on ebay a couple days ago, i had to have it for my weird PL coin set, i think it is pretty unique, looks better in hand than my sub-par pictures. For this date there are only 3 certified by NGC as PL, 2 MS64s and a single MS66.

This is one of several 1946-S dies polished into a Prooflike sheen. Most of them just miss PL, however, and get a STAR instead. Only 3 1946-S quarters have made PL, thusfar.

 

All silver Washingtons are rare in PL, though 46-S is much scarcer than the 47-S, which can be considered the most common. I think you paid a 1947-S price for a 1946-S!

i thought i did pretty well, the reverse is a little less Pl than obverse but still reflective. I will continue my search for rare Pl coins, hopefully add another washington if i get a chance
