old Harco album with PVC contamination on coins

Would you deeply discount or just pass on the opportunity for an uncirculated but green set in anolder Harco album.

 

as examples say a Jefferson set 1939 through 1970

and a Roosevelt set 1946 through 1970

It's a lot of work to clean up stuff like that. It's also a gamble on if the coins are damaged or not.

I hate to say it but, face value on the Jeffersons and bullion value for the Roosevelts might be fair.

Take a close look at the coins under magnification to see how bad the PVC is. I transferred a Roosevelt set from a Harco to a Dansco and only about 6 coins needed a soak. The inner sleeve in the Harco is not soft, gooey PVC. Only the pages themselves are. You might want to make a low offer and then pay more if you can salvage the coins.
