It's definitely an extremely interesting piece. However, when I see coins with splotchy toning like that, I wonder if missing pieces of the original toning might have flaked off in a microscopic or submicroscopic way somewhere along the line? The second question I have is what environmental conditions do you suppose were responsible for that toning, .... regardless of how you might respond to my first question. Thanks for any explanation.
