Cherrypicking Stacks Bowers

9 posts in this topic

I love cherrypicking. Not really for any other reason than the excitement of when you find a variety in circulation. That being said, I decided to cherrypick the upcoming Stacks Bowers auction(I apparently have too much free time). I was surprised by the coins I found that were unattributed varieties. Is it improper for me to post my results?

Here they are:

also, a * means that it appears to be the variety, but would need a better look.

I got a decent cherrypick on Wednesday night in the auction, but most likely got it cheap because the coin was in one of those multi-coin lots early on where they don't put the images online. Saw the variety during lot viewing though so that was nice :)

they should know better as they have experts looking over things

my guess is that the coin is listed as to what the coin is holdered as, not what may have been discovered down the road. Unless the consigner specified to list it with the variety noted and Stacks Bowers agreed that the attribution was correct.
