Guess the grade :

The reverse of this coin has a lot of eye appeal, the obverse is a bit splotchy but still attractive in hand.

Nice newer pictures Mark -

Coloring is nice but I think I this is one of the worse "O" struck I have seen.

The thing I see that sets this apart from other "O" mint coins is what looks like wear or usage damage.

It has worn away the feet and talons and leg feathering on the eagle.

The leaves look to show wear instead of strike issues.

It looks to have verticle markings on the breast which in the pictures look

like scratching instead of strike issues.

Along with all the splotchyness on the front of the coin.

If it was any other coin I would say it was an AU coin ..

I will stand by 63 even with the above mentioned issues as it is a "O" mint coin :)

I like the subtle pastel colors on the obverse and nice toning on the reverse. This coin screams originality. A very nice untouched example and I'll go with the MS63 crowd. (64 wouldn't surprise me either)

*** I'd buy it if you were to sell :)

Actually the coin has minimal markings pretty much typical for the grade. The lighting with the tone on the reverse made it look like there were marks when there were not . I will post the grade later today

The Heritage photos are huge and show high resolution detail of the coin.

I picked this up for below wholesale when the coin market was very soft in 2009. My original intention was to re sell it on EBAY for a profit.

When I had the coin in hand I decided to keep it solely based on the eye appeal of the reverse. The splotchy observes does not bother me.

Mary B – one characteristic of O mint Morgans is the weak strike. And this one is a perfect example. What you consider wear is in fact a very weak strike.

You grade it MS 62 but say it has quite a bit of wear – in that case you should have graded it Au 58.

One of the worst "O" mints I have ever seen

Congratulations :)

If that's the case, you need to get out more. I have seen a great many O mints that don't even begin to compare to it, strike-wise, or in terms of eye-appeal.
