Brazil national (empire) counter-marked coinage

In order to prevent chaotic conditions resulting from local and private counter-marking, the Brazilian government passed law # 54 on the 6th Oct 1835 which ordered all copper coins to be counter-marked to the following standards

2 oitavos = 7.18g = 10 Reis

4 oitavos = 14.34g = 20 Reis

8 oitavos = 28.69g = 40 Reis

The counter-marks consist of neat numerals within a circle, having a plain or shaded field. These countermarks were applied to various Brazilian coinage from 1799-1833 in addition, wrong countermarks are occasionally found to the above weights, as well as various Portuguese, Angolan, San Tome, Mozambiquean and pre-1799 Brazilian coins

Your host coin is a 1830R 80 Reis coin of Pedro 1st KM#366.1 and the countermark is C1835 40 Reis KM#366.1

The grade is done on these coins on the countermark and i would guess it would grade VF
