thx mark

but i would tend to a much higher grading cause there is viritually nothing on the coin which dosnt

belong there.

i will try to get a good picture of the reflections.

I like it alot

I don't think a proof either

and am concerned about the 'clear areas'

the reverse below DIME and the obverse fields on both sides of the lady

- those are prime areas for light cleaning ir whizzing

the obverse also has some small dark spots, on the right

which looks like carbon spots rather than toning

if they are spots, really haed to get over 65 and probably lower

also the luster needs to be outstanding to get over GEM at PCGS or NGC

it sure has a nice edge/rim and great details

You're most welcome and you very well might be right. If I had seen good (or better) luster, I would have guessed M65 at a minimum.

This coin is going to be all about the luster - the strike is superb, and there don't appear to be many marks. If the luster looks like the pics, I'm going to go with Mark and say 64. If the luster is strong, it could go as high as 66.

still working on a new picture...

my pix are without flash so you will not see real shiny luster which comes mostly from flashlights.

in any case, this coin is 100% not dipped !!

It might appear to be undipped, but unless it has been in your possession since the time it was minted, it is best to not make statements such as "this coin is 100% not dipped".

That's because you have absolutely no way of knowing. It is much more prudent to say something to the effect of "It looks/appears to be undipped".

Call me picky if you wish.

You should not take pictures with a flash - proper lighting is the key.

Tom B did a write up on this series of coin – if I remember correctly un toned examples have a powder white appearance.

So you cannot say that this coin was never dipped.

Dipped or not it is a good looking coin .

I have never seen one with a better strike, I wonder if NCS could improve it's overall appearance and get it into a MS65 slab?

Why would NCS need to do anything with this coin ?? The coin should get into an MS 66 as is .

It means that your images, with virtual certainty, did not reveal hairlines that keep the coin in that grade. The TPGs are pretty darned consistent around the PR-62 - PR-66 grade range, probably to the tune of 98%.

If PCGS has opined as PR-64, then you can probably take that to the bank. It's a great coin, so enjoy it as-is!

TPGs ??

plz explain :-)

by the way...if i try looking really hard i can see some really micro minor hairlines, but that would still ceritify for higher than MS64 !?

but anyway that coin came to me raw at the cost of 100$.

thx
