Interesting ANACS holder

Wondering if ANACS encapsulated this or if is an aftermarket holder.

It is an aftermarket holder. The flip that originally held the coin is also inside the new holder. One way to keep everything together.

If the marketing people at ANACS were smart they would take these old certificate coins and offer a re-grade/reholder service in something like this. It would be pretty damn cool.

 

On the other hand there is nothing to prevent PCGS or NGC from such a feat, though they probably wouldn't do it because ANACS is their competitor.

I would have also. That is after market. It does look nice and all but nothing i would be looking for

It's just a Capitol brand holder with a raw coin and an ANACS certificate held inside.

Yes, ANACS 4 certificate in a Capital Plastics holder. I believe CP came out with that line of holders specifically for the grading certificates. There were several different services whose certificates would fit into them. It did make a nice presentation, and it provided a way of keeping the coin with the certificate. Like the slab which came later it also provided protection for the coin. There were several different styles of these holders.
