I just couldn't help myself.

This coin has been presented in a previous thread, but now that I have it in hand, I must agree with the forum concensus that this is a very high grade 61.

I have examined the coin thoroughly and the only deficiency keeping from 62 - 63 is subdued luster. I suspect a bit of cleaning as well.

The most I have ever spent on a single coin. I am happy it's found a home.

These are still Hertitage images. Bob will be photographing this coin soon.

Under 10X, just looks flat as many other areas on the coin, i.e., 9 in the year, FIVE CENTS, and also around LIBERTY. A Die issue?

My first guess was a weak strike. All of the details on that one are kinda mushy.
