Two months for grading. Normal? ANSWER REC'D!

I don't excuse the delay in processing this coin because it was difficult. Really, how long do you have to think it over? It's not like NGC and PCGS haven't seen thousands of them.

 

You're assuming that all that was needed was to have some graders look at it. If Early Bird is at 18 days (business days), then that is basically a month on a normal coin. This was two months. It's very possible that when it was time to grade this coin it was set aside waiting until some of the senior graders came back from a show. Also, it is very possible that NGC ran tests on the coin - specific gravity, etc - to see if they could find something to prove one way or the other the authenticity of the coin. These take time.

 

It's also possible it just sat on a desk for 6 weeks. (shrug)
