Grade opinions and Overton number on my new 1832 CBH Please (Grade revealed)

15 posts in this topic

I recently picked this PCGS graded CBH up at a local coin dealer. It has a nice near full cartwheel in the unprotected fields. I hope my pictures convey this well.

Guess the grade and lets see if I was right on my Overton guess.

I'm going to go with AU-58. Just the slightest discoloration on the high points of the obverse. While the coin was dipped some time ago, it has regained some patina. Not sure on the O#, I have to run to work so I don't have the time for that at the present moment.

Thanks for the guesses guys. When I saw this in my dealers case I knew I had to have it and I felt it was an awesome coin for the price.

Here is the grade...

53 seems like a fair grade, if a little low. I'm guessing if you had posted that picture of the coin (cropped, of course), there would have been a lot more AU guesses.
