Almost a prooflike

7 posts in this topic

I have had this quarter for several years, actually bought it with a group for spot prices about 4 years ago.

I have always thought that it was boarder-line 'proof-like' but kept forgetting about it when sending in some coins to NGC. Finally, in early December sent this in with an economy submission (31 days), hoping for some 'stars' with a couple of the other Washingtons. When I opened the grade, I about dropped my socks....

The 1943-S quarter is now a pop 5 coin with 1 higher - a 68 *

The 1946-S (with the small planchet flaw) is actually the better of the two1946s I sent in. Thought they might overlook the flaw with the spectacular toning.
