Coin Plectrums

5 posts in this topic

I had no idea what a plectrum was, until now.

Plectrums

There are even *spoon* plectrums!

I plectrum-ed some food from between my teeth the other day because I didn't have a toothpick.

Knowing a couple of guitarists, I did know the meaning of "plectrum". However, I never would have thought of using a golden dollar to make one! Pretty cool, even if that is a severely "altered" coin lol !

Years ago, I was talking to a collector who was also a gold enthusiast. He was seeking out cheap, cleaned two-cent pieces to be used as golf markers of some sort (I'm not familiar at all with golfing terms). I think he did end up buying a couple to implement his idea.

Those are pretty cool. I like a very flexible pick myself. I would think these would be considerably stiff. Btw James, I have a gold plated IHC as a ball marker when I golf.
