I heard about this last year. Although the ones I heard about were going to be at the Post Offices if I remember right.

If I'm not mistaken, these have been around for some years, having started out in far eastern countries (read "oil-rich" countries). They migrated west, what, maybe a couple of years ago?

Before buying from a gold vending machine, make sure you investigate the premium over melt value that you are paying for the convenience.

I think these were originally developed in Germany, but in any case I'd be more comfortable buying from a real person!
