Some coins from a 1951 Mint Set.

I got a 1951 mint set a couple of years ago. The coins are predominantly in the MS64-5 range, so I've kept them raw. I've got another '51-S Roosie and Washie that I might get imaged in the future, but their toning is pretty dark. Shane Canup imaged these coins and I think he did an excellent job.

Nice and crusty!

I like the reverse on that Franklin! Any guess why Roosevelt looks streaky?

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks Chris!

...Any guess why Roosevelt looks streaky?...

My best guess is that there are some linear features in the paper part of the paper/cardboard holder, so I'm guessing it's differential toning from the paper.

It's in the mylar. My 60-65 proof sets are the same.

CM63, as mentioned it is most likely the paper, plastic packaging didn't come in for mint sets until 1959.
