Graded Colorized Coins

Probably the same as regular coins. That is by checking for nicks, contact marks, hairlines, rubs and other imperfections on the colorized and non-colorized fields. Just a WAG.

NGC applies the same standard as uncolorized coins. Bagmarks, hairlines, strike, eye appeal all are important factors. The colorized side is just part of the minting process.

Gunsmoke, don't worry. I don't collected colorized Panda coins. For some reason this coin came up when I was searching eBay. It shocked me to see a colorized coin in a slab.

How does the mint create these pieces? Do they put the ink in the die and then strike the planchet? I have no problem with them being graded as long as it takes place during the mint process vs. post-mint.
