Latest Kennedy Error Find

8 posts in this topic

It looks to be roughly AU/Unc, but that brings up an interesting idea, in that I never thought grade would be important to an error, seeing as how it is never going to be MS-70 (an error by definition id imperfect), the grade must be skewed downwards. Anyone care to shed some light on error grading?

I have several quarters that look like that and I thought it was from either a deteriorated die or a die that was rehubed and stressed, but I could be wrong. If you find anything about it, can you post your findings? Thanks KEN

The error does not effect the grade. In this case, the coin is graded based on the normal areas of the coin's surface. An error is not concidered damage and therefore does not detraction from grade.
